Mississippi State University’s Graduate School no longer requires the GRE or GMAT for admissions purposes. However, some departments may require these test scores to be eligible for an assistantship. Please contact departments directly for more information on applying for a graduate assistantship.
All other requirements will still need to be met for admission into a student's graduate program. For students coming to MSU from countries where English is not the first language, English proficiency scores are still required. We will accept scores within five years from the test date.
We will need an official copy of your English language proficiency test scores. Please note that we will accept official scores provided by TOEFL, IELTS, and PTE.
If you are not able to provide these scores, you will need to retake the English proficiency exam and send us your new official scores. If your scores do not meet our minimum requirements as stated in the Graduate Catalog you will need to enroll in ESL classes.
Should you have any questions or need assistance completing your application, please checkout this how to video or email us at gradapps@grad.msstate.edu.
